Sebastian Vettel insists Ferrari has raised the bar again in 2016 despite a winless campaign, one he thinks will provide the foundation for future success. Air Max 95 Outlet Australia .Vettel and Ferrari came into the season hoping to challenge Mercedes for the title but, with three races remaining, look likely to settle for third behind Red Bull. Much of the pre-season optimism came from Vettel claiming three victories in his first season with the team last year. The German admits Ferrari has not been good enough this year.I agree on the fact that we didnt get the results, cant excuse that, but I think theres a lot of work going in at the factory, a lot of things have changed fundamentally since the day that I joined, I think to the better, he said. Unfortunately in Formula One it doesnt happen with a mouse click, to have the results on the track.Of course its always the results that people have in their heads and youll be measured based on your latest results, which is fair enough, its part of the game. Its the same for other people as well, no different to us, I dont think it should be.Its clear that we have very high ambitions and targets, and if we dont meet them then of course we are disappointed as well. As I said we are putting a lot of effort and work in to try and change that.Despite the teams failings this year Vettel is certain Ferrari can raise the bar again in 2017 -- something he believes it has done this season. The level has been fairly high the day I joined but I think we raised the bar again. We are trying to raise it even more for next year, trying to connect everyone and try to work as a team, because we have a lot of people, we have a lot of intelligent, clever, smart people and try to get them together to work on one project. Our understanding of this years car and the cars weve recently built has become a lot better, which should help us again in the future hopefully, but Im fairly confident on that point. How much with the rule changes obviously all depends on what other people are doing, what they are thinking, if somebody comes out with a clever idea or not. Cheap Air Max 95 Online Australia . Why did I leave Australia to play cricket in England, in 1990? Simple. Because Im English.I became good mates with Brian Lara because I was the first person to hit him on the head - in an Under-19 Test Match, playing for Australia. In Australia, Test cricket has always come before first-class cricket, but when I first came over, in England, it was all about county cricket and the England team second.I didnt take myself seriously with the bat. Of course I was shit. But I loved it. I hooked Wasim Akram for a six once. The plan was always to play for England. Some politics kept me out of the side for a while.I made my first-class debut for Western Australia in the 1987-88 Sheffield Shield final. I wasnt even in the state squad, but Bruce Reid and Peter Capes got injured and the back-up bowlers werent thought to be good enough to play against Queensland. One of the senior players, Wayne Andrews, said, I know a young bloke wholl walk into the team and do a bloody good job. And that was me.I played my last three years with a broken rib that wouldnt heal.Rodney Marsh thought I should have been in the 1989 Australian Ashes squad. Shane Warne thought I should have had 80 Tests for England. In my first year I came to Hampshire and played for the second team. They said I couldnt play for the first team because of the politics, they said I wasnt English. Graham Gooch tried to get me to play for Essex, and I said no. So for the next five or six years, all Graham Gooch had to say was, Hows this guy playing county cricket? Hes not even English. Thats why I wasnt picked for England. It took a few years and a lot of wickets to prove that I was English and good enough to play for England. There were no Kolpak players back then. These days if you can pick out where England is on the map, you can qualify and get a game for England. In 1990 I had 27 days straight on the road, up and down the country, playing county cricket. They invited me down to practice [before the 1987-88 Shield final] and about two seconds after I arrived, I had a camera shoved in my face and I was asked what it was like to be playing in the Shield final. Id been following the West Indies and didnt even realise there was a Shield game on. I remember bowling to Kim Hughes and Graeme Wood in the nets, so I bowled pretty quick, put a few round their heads a few times, and then Graeme Wood said, Youre playing in the final.I bought a one-way airline ticket when I left Australia, aged 18.I hooked Allan Donald for a six once, and before the next ball, Darren Gough, who was batting with me, says, Hes going to kill you now. Next ball, Donald bounced me and it hit me on the side of the neck. The only time I ever saw Warne lose 100% focus was when he was bowling round the wicket, against Surrey, with two men on the leg side, trying to bowl the batsmen round their legs. The ECB had this stupid rule back then, where they told umpires to call wide if a spinner bowled one down the leg side. To stop negative bowling. So Warney bowled it there, it missed the batsmans leg by a whisker and then turned so much that the wicketkeeper took it outside the off stump. And the umpire wided him. Ridiculous. In Australia, when you get picked for your country its a huge deal and everyone knows about it. When I got picked for England, I found out through a phone call, down in the office at Leicestershire, from Sky Television, saying, We want to interview you about playing cricket for England on Sunday. Oh, brilliant. Im playing, am I? No ones told me.Im writing my autobiography. Itll be out next summer. It wont be boring because Im not boring. How they ran the show back then was a bit of a joke. Jon Agnew tells a story of how he was picked to play for England. Hes turned up in the dressing room. David Gower, the England captain, was his team-mate at Leicestershire. And he said to Aggers: What are you doing here? And he said, You should bloody know, you picked me.Playing club cricket, I hit a guy called Jason Constable in the head and nearly killed him. He didnt wear a helmet. In my first Test, I guided Nasser Hussain through to his first England hundred. The first ball Javagal Srinath bowled to me, I tried to give it the old Gordon Greenidge - off the back foot on the up through the covers. Played and missed. Hussain came down the wicket. He didnt know what to say. He was close to a hundred. Just watch the ball and stick around. I said, Yeah, no problem man. A few balls later I hooked one for four. Hussain made his hundred, and then soon after, he got out, hooking, caught fine leg. We were walking off and I said, Jesus Christ, Hussain. Youve cost me another fifty. My batting went from bad to incredibly worse over the next few years.Mark Nicholas once said on commentary that Mullally brings a relaxed and calm aura to the England team.Steve Waugh tried to give me his mental disintegration. I bowled round the wicket and he blocked it. And he said, What do you follow-through so far for, Mullally? Anyone would think youre a fast bowler. And I said, Look, Mr Stephen Waugh, the reason I follow through so far is because Im a very poor athlete and it takes a long time to put the brakes on. He didnt know what to say then. The way England did things was not the best, and thats why we werent the best.We were crap in the 1999 Worrld Cup. Cheap Air Max 95 Australia. Against Zimbabwe we should have knocked off the 170 we needed to win in 30 overs. Then wed have been through on run rate, whether we beat India or not. The lads out there were having a net session. In the dressing room, me and Goughie were tearing our hair out, thinking, Any chance of playing some shots? Then we lost against India and were out. When you bowled a bouncer to a batsman and they pulled it in front of square for four rather than jumping out the way, you knew it was time to give up.We were playing a one-dayer at Lords, and on the big screen up came a list of the top ten one-day bowlers in the world. I was No. 2 and Goughie was No. 7. He was at mid-on and he said, How are you in front of me? Youre no better than me. And I said, Well, Goughie, obviously I am. Next ball, I said to him, Joking aside, theres you at No. 7 in the world and me at No. 2, and that doesnt guarantee well get picked next game.I may have been technically rubbish with the bat, but I wasnt scared of the ball.Curtly Ambrose once said that he doesnt try to get the batsmen out. The batsmen need to score, so they get themselves out, so his job was to keep it tight. Thats about right for me too. Especially with the right-handers - youd just put it across them and theyd nick it. So that was my theory in one-day cricket. With a few slower balls and yorkers.I was a team player, wanted to win games first. Performances and records came second. In Test cricket I prided myself on dragging it back. Goughie would come on, Dominic Cork would come on, or Chris Lewis. And if you look at the record, theyd be going for five or six runs an over in a Test match. They were very selfish and wanted their own glory. When people say fast bowlers should hunt in pairs, or bowl in partnerships, they never did that, they were too selfish. So whenever I came on, I felt I had to go into one-day mode and try and tidy things up, rather than have three slips, a gully and short leg. Do what I did for Leicestershire.I signed for Hampshire on the back of a receipt in a pub, after dinner with Rod Bransgrove. There were so many things that were wrong with the England team when I played. They expected instant results. So theyd pick a team and if they didnt win the match or the series with flying colours, theyd change the side. I dont recall whether I played a Test or one-day match with the same XI twice. Graeme Hick was dropped and recalled something like 11 or 12 times in his Test career. You just cant do that. One of the best batsmen Id ever seen bat, or bowled against, and he was treated shockingly.Andy Roberts once said, Every days fishing day but you dont always catch fish.[Glenn] McGrath was getting stuck into me with his mouth once. And I said, Im not interested in your gobshite. If you want to have a full go, Ill meet you round the back after the game. He got fined three and a half grand and he bought me a beer afterwards, and he goes, Al, that beer just cost me three and a half grand. And we laughed about it. If you bowl three maidens in a row, youll create wicket-taking chances. In the Melbourne Test, 1998-99, Justin Langer said to me it was one of the best spells of bowling hed seen me bowl. We won the game, against one of the best sides theres ever been, and for the Sydney Test, Alec Stewart, the captain, comes over with Gooch, the manager, and says, Youre not playing in this Test match, were picking Alex Tudor for the extra pace. I was bowling 88mph in the Melbourne Test. He came in at Sydney and bowled 80mph. Go figure. It wasnt hard to give up playing. A lot of people retire bitter, think that they can do it forever. You cant. I always realised that. There was nothing particularly hard to give up.I faced Ian Botham in my first Shield game, and before that I thought he was the quickest bowler going. He turned out to be just medium-fast. Not like the guys I faced a few years later - Patrick Patterson, Wasim Akram, Malcolm Marshall and the rest.Whenever Alec Stewart didnt get any runs, hed pull out his gloves and start practising his keeping next to Jack Russell. In my last Test, Brett Lee was bowling seriously quick and Warney from slip said, At least youve got the guts to get behind it. The rest of them have been shitting themselves.I had an eye test and my vision came back 20-20 perfect. I couldnt understand it. I told the doctor, It cant be perfect. Have you seen me bat? I cant see the ball. And the doctor said, Have you ever thought that youre just rubbish at batting?David Lloyd, when he was England coach, said that hed buy me 30 pints of Guinness if I could score 30 against Pakistan. I got to 24, gave the dressing room the signal to get them in, and then Wasim Akram bowled me with a slower ball. Walking off, I told him that he was an idiot because he could have shared the Guinness with me. Wasim said that if Id told him about Bumbles promise, he would have bowled half-volleys to get me to 30.If you look back in 20 years time and can say that you played cricket with Shane Warne, thats something to be proud of. It would have been the same had Don Bradman played county cricket.Follow Alan Mullally on Facebook and @alanspidermulla ' ' '

CHICAGO --?Golden Tate has been on the field for almost every Detroit Lions offensive snap this season. If hes been pulled out, its been for a play or two and then hes right back in there. On Sunday during a 17-14 loss to the Chicago Bears, Tate was barely on the field during the second half at all. Whether it was a benching or not was not entirely clear.Entering Sunday, Tate has been on the field for 86.8 percent of the Lions offensive snaps. Yet Lions coach Jim Caldwell, when asked if Tate was benched, wouldnt say the team benched him and used Andre Roberts on the outside instead. We move him around quite a bit, Caldwell said. We gave Andre an opportunity. Andre obviously deserves it and it was our plan beforehand. You know, but he came back in. He was back in there and hell do well.Tate said he knew during the week the coaches wanted to use Roberts more, but it didnt sound like he knew it was going to be at his expense. Tate said after Sundays game he was not told he wouldnt be playing much in the second half.Tates disappearance from the field came after a miscommunication with Matthew Stafford on a drive late in the first half that led to a Chicago interception. Kyrie 3 Shoes For Sale. After the play, Stafford got pretty heated both on the field and the sideline. After the game, Tate took responsibility for the miscommunication.Tate said he had not spoken to the coaches about it, so he wasnt sure if it led to his dip in usage in the second half against Detroit. But to Tate, did it feel like he was benched?Um, it was a feeling Ive never had before, for sure, Tate said. But I just stayed ready and that was that.Tate said it felt different, but wasnt sure how to answer a follow-up question elaborating on what he meant about it being a feeling he had never had before.Tate had one catch for 1 yard Sunday against the Bears on four targets. It was the fewest receptions Tate has had in a regular-season game since Week 11 of the 2013 season, when he had one catch for 26 yards. It was his fewest yards since he went without a catch during Week 7 of the 2012 season against San Francisco. ' ' '

Santa Clara was 12 of 28 from distance while Sacred Heart hit just 3 of 13.Matt Hauser got his second straight double-double with 14 points and a career-high 11 assists and Nate Kratch chipped in 11 points for the Broncos (3-2).The game was tied at 44 with 16:36 remaining when Santa Claras Evan Wardlow hit a jump shot to start a 14-5 run. The Barrie Colts defenceman, who impressed many with his play for Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championship, is the top-ranked skater in the February rankings. He has 19 goals and 24 assists for 43 points in 45 games with the Colts this season. Sachin Tendulkar has suggested that every Ranji Trophy game be played on two different pitches to prepare a better Test team for overseas assignments. He also suggested that bilateral Test series could be made more engaging by having back-to-back home-and-away rubbers so that the strength of two teams remains mostly constant but the varying conditions pose a bigger challenge.I have thought a lot about neutral venues in Ranji Trophy [which is being tried this season], Tendulkar said at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit in Delhi.I have a suggestion which can be radical. When we go to places like Australia, New Zealand, West Indies and South Africa, we play with Kookaburra balls which swing early. Think about a young Ranji batsman playing with SG Test ball in India and then facing difficulty overseas.Let us have the first innings on a greentop with Kookaburra balls, which would give openers a challenge. Even the bowlers will have something. Our spiinners will also learn how to bowl with the Kookaburra on greentops. Cheap New York Yankees Jerseys. Now let there be a pitch adjacent to the greentop which would be a rank turner. Now the second innings will be played on that track with the SG Test ball which would also help our batsmen play against quality spin bowling. We have been too focussed on playing pace in overseas conditions but we should not forget how to play spin bowling.Tendulkar felt the use of two different pitches and two different balls would nullify the toss factor.A captain would start thinking that winning the toss will give him only 10 percent advantage that is his right to choose first, he said. But if he chooses to bowl on greentop he should remember that he would need to bat on a turner in the fourth innings.BCCI president Anurag Thakur was also among the audience. ' ' '

VILLANOVA, Pa. Air Max 97 Sale Outlet . -- Kris Jenkins hit a 3-pointer without much hoopla. He wasnt mobbed by his Villanova teammates, and confetti didnt rain from the rafters. No streamers, no hysterical fans. Jenkins simply hustled back for a routine defensive assignment. His first 3 of the game simply helped the Wildcats open the season the same way they ended the last one -- with a win.Jalen Brunson scored 17 points, Jenkins had 16, and No. 4 Villanova opened the defense of its national championship with an 88-48 victory over Lafayette on Friday night.Playing a game is probably the best thing we can do to get past last season, coach Jay Wright said.Jenkins hit a buzzer-beating 3 in the 2015-16 title game to lift the Wildcats to a 77-74 win over North Carolina. With a national championship banner hanging in the rafters, Jenkins naturally scored Villanovas first two points of the season after forcing a turnover at midcourt. The forward then hit his first 3 to make it 10-2 and helped the Wildcats storm to a 49-17 lead at the end of the first half.Villanova looked every bit like a team that could become the first repeat national champ since Florida in 2006 and 2007. Jenkins, who flirted with leaving for the NBA after last season, said the Wildcats had moved forward. Its pretty easy to do because we have a team thats hungry, he said. The Wildcats, three-time defending Big East champs, also have a team thats deep and versatile. Josh Hart, a preseason All-American, scored 13 points for the Wildcats. Reserve Mikal Bridges had 16 points and eight rebounds.Thats what a top team has, Lafayette coach Fran OHanlon said. It has a number of guys fighting for a lot of playing time and getting a lot of playing time.Brunson and Jenkins each hit four of Villanovas 15 3-pointers.Nick Lindner led the Leopards with 10 points.?BIG PICTURELafayette: The Leopards continue to play Villanova, even with just one win in 10 career matchups. The Leopards missed 12 of 13 3-point attempts in the first half and scored only two points on their first 20 possessions. The Leopards, out of the Patriot League, wont play another team in the regular season like Villanova. Lafayette does return to Philadelphia on Dec. 22 to play at Saint Josephs.Villanova: The Wildcats could use an easy one before they play at No. 15 Purdue on Monday. Villanova is a whopping 98-13 there since the start of the 2013-14 season.THANKS FOR NOTHINGOHanlon played point guard for three seasons (1967-70) for the Wildcats. He had just one small problem opening the season at Villanova.Jay didnt say he was going to win the national title, OHanlon said with a laugh. The Wildcats make a return trip next season and play Lafayette at the PPL Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania. OHanlon said the original pitch to his program was that the game in Allentown would be this season. When that fell through, the Wildcats offered Lafayette to come to campus this season.Yeah, thats some favor, Jay, OHanlon said. Im going to play the national champs twice. For professional distance runner Ryan Vail, the New York City Marathon on Sunday will represent the beginning of a bridge to a finish line that is four years away on the other side of the world. After struggling with injuries that prevented him from competing for more than a year, Vail is finally ready to validate his ability against some of the worlds top marathoners on Sunday (9 a.m. ET on ESPN2 and WatchESPN).Vail pulled out of the U.S. Olympic trials for the marathon and 10,000 meters earlier this year to recover from his third consecutive stress fracture in 17 months. When the 30-year-old Portland, Ore., resident was cleared to start training in this past March, he progressed from initially walking for a few minutes and mostly aqua jogging to running up to 110 miles a week. The New York City Marathon, the largest in the world, will be his comeback race since he last competed at the U.S. Outdoor Track and Field Championships in June 2015.This is a stepping stone on the way back to the right path to the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, said Vail, whose personal record for the marathon is 2 hours and 10 minutes.Vail, who is competing in the event for the third time, will race alongside several other U.S. elites, including three-time Olympian Dathan Ritzenhein, who will run it for the first time in six years. Vail was the top American finisher and 13th overall in 2013 and the second American and ninth overall in 2014.With the goal of again placing top 10 and vying to be the first American to cross the finish line, Vail discusses his process and how he hopes Sundays race will help reframe his path as he finally takes a competitive step forward.Related story from Competitor.com: How to watch the NYC MarathonRelated story from Competitor.com: Molly Huddle ready for her marathon debutQuestion: After more than a year hiatus from racing, the New York City Marathon will be an attempt at redeeming yourself. What do you want to prove?Answer from Vail: This is a big test for me. Im not going for a personal best. More than anything, not having raced in so long, I expect myself to be able to jump back in and have the mental toughness that Ive had in the past and fight just as hard as any anyone else out there. I want to prove to myself that I still have it.Q: How have you modified your training for this race coming off of three injuries?A: Ive definitely overreacted on a few occasions. Ive taken five, six, seven days in the pool just because I felt a little tightness that wouldnt normally trigger any alarm. Because Ive been so paranoid, I cross-trained more than I hoped to, but it was all about getting to the start line healthy. Air Max 97 Uk Sale. The most challenging part was not doing the amount of volume I normally do. Ive gone up to 110 miles a week in comparison to 150 miles a week in the past. My cross-training has been almost exclusively aqua jogging.Question: Whats challenging about the New York course?A: There are hills in it, but I dont think the hills are the toughest part. The two years that Ive done it, there was a good 17 miles of headwind, and the course runs mostly from south to north. Thats the most challenging, but something you cant control. Since there are no pacers and no one is going for time, everyone has to go through those conditions together. In the past, Ive done a flat course for a lot of my road work going into a marathon. I found another loop thats really hilly and tough, and Ive been doing my long runs around it, so its a little bit closer to mimicking New York.Question: Whats your race strategy?A: You never know what the race strategy will be. Just like in 2014, it turned into a fartlek effort with people taking the lead, and coming back, then taking the lead. You have to be ready to adjust your game plan on the spot, which is a reason why I like this race. Thats something I do well.Question: Four Americans finished in the top 10 at the 2015 race, among them Meb Keflezighi, who was seventh overall. But no American has cracked the top five since Meb won in 2009.A: Obviously with New York, being as prestigious as it is, it brings in the best field in the world. Sometimes it can arguably be more competitive than the Olympics, depending on who shows up. I dont take that as a negative sign whatsoever. Its just a challenge to try to elevate U.S. distance running.Question: Youll be alongside several other U.S. elites, including Ritzenhein. Theres a race within the race.A: Thats one of the really cool things about these U.S. major marathons. Theres actually a team aspect and camaraderie that goes into this. Of course were racing each other, but it means getting out of the way for someone to get their bottle or helping each other out with pacing, just like you saw in Boston when Meb won in 2014. Theres this idea that we want to finish well as Americans. Obviously, when it comes down to the last 10K, were going to race each other to the death. But before that, theres camaraderie going into it, and thats motivational throughout the race. ' ' '

GLASGOW, Scotland -- Anti-doping leaders were challenged to produce more credible evidence of Russian cheating by a leading Olympic executive on Saturday. Nike Air Jordan Cheap Uk .Leaving a meeting of the World Anti-Doping Agency executive committee, IOC representative Gian Franco Kasper dismissed the credibility of the report that detailed Russian state-sponsored doping.Manipulation of samples at the 2014 Sochi Winter Games and cover-ups of positive tests across dozens of summer and winter Olympic sports was reported by WADA investigator Richard McLaren in July ahead of the Rio de Janeiro Games.I want to see the proof, Kasper, who is also president of the skiing federation, said in Glasgow. We cannot say its correct or not. He has to bring proof with names.Former Russian anti-doping lab director Grigory Rodchenkov told McLaren that samples of Russian athletes were passed through a concealed hole in the wall during the middle of the night at the Sochi Games, with the help of intelligence officers from the FSB, the current version of the Soviet Unions KGB.You know this hole in the wall in Sochi was Hollywood for me ... they had a key for the door, Kasper said. The KGB are so stupid they have to drill a hole in the wall? Come on.U.S. Anti-Doping Agency chairman Edwin Moses, the gold medal-winning and world record-setting hurdler from the 1970s and `80s, said it was ridiculous for Kasper to question the investigation.Wave after wave of retests show that there are Russian athletes (doping), Moses said after attending the WADA meeting with Kasper. You can go back one or two Olympic Games and it just seems like wave after wave of Russians are showing up (as having doped) which really cuts through the credibility of the results of those Olympic Games and the redistribution of medals. To me thats a horrible situation. The latest batch of retests of samples from the 2008 Beijing Olympics saw the IOC announce on Thursday that four Russian athletes, including three medalists, tested positive for banned substances. The credibility of Olympic medals has diminished and thats what the athletes are believing, Moses said. You have scores of athletes out there who should have won medals and now know they were right. That is why Moses, like WADA, wanted the entire Russian delegation banned from the Rio Games in August, a move that provoked the ire of the International Olympic Committee. The IOC rebuffed those calls, instead allowing individual sports to rule on the eligibility of Russians.Three months after the Rio Games, the rifts remerged in public at an Olympic gathering this week in Qatar, where the IOC questioned Craig Reedies WADA leadership, demanding a neutral president. Reedie is still set to be re-elected unchallenged for a second three-year term at the WADA Foundation Board meeting in his native Scotland. There is no point at the moment walking away from this situation when things need to get done and things get difficult, Reedie said on Saturday. There are people demanding improvements in process and I want to get that finished as well.A WADA Foundation Board meeting on Sunday will see a discussion of the WADA leaderships push for enhanced whistleblowing mechanisms, and bid to codify a sliding scale of sanctioning powers, including fines or blanket bans on entire countries or sports for the type of widespread doping scheme it believes was run by the Russian state.WADA only tried it once with the Russians in Rio and the IOC said no -- its none of their business, Kasper said. It has to be a neutral institution and it shouldnt be political. ... You cannot be the prosecutor and the judge yourself. Its the basic principle of justice.---Rob Harris is at www.twitter.com/RobHarris and www.facebook.com/RobHarrisReports Air Jordan Uk Online Shop . Max Verstappen says Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel did not leave him enough room at the first corner of the Belgian Grand Prix and used the incident to defend moves he made on both drivers later in the race. The Dutch teenager started from second on the grid but bogged down as the lights went out and found himself behind Raikkonen and Vettel on the approach to Turn 1. He responded by attacking the Ferraris on the inside but as he did so Vettel clipped Raikkonen from the outside and all three suffered damage to their cars.Of course the start wasnt great but from there I dived up the inside, I didnt lock a wheel so I was easily making the corner but they just kept squeezing me, he said. At one point I was on the inside, Kimi was again squeezing me and Sebastian just turned in on both of us. That took my front wing, I had a lot of damage and also the floor got destroyed so from there on your race is gone.Asked if Vettel should have left more room, for the two cars on the inside, Verstappen said: Definitelyy, I mean he knows that hes on the outside and suddenly he just turns into the corner where there are two other cars, so I think thats pretty logical. Air Jordans Online Uk. Raikkonen was critical of Verstappens actions later in the race when they made light contact as the Ferrari driver attempted to pass around the outside and, despite having his car in front under braking, had to take to the run-off area.Ah, he should say that at Turn 1, Vestappen responded, I mean, its ridiculous. Its good television if somebody is moaning. Especially after Turn 1 when they do something to you like that, Im not going to give up my position to them that easy afterwards.Asked if he has been too aggressive at recent races, Verstappen said he was not worried about what his rivals think of him.To be honest I think thats a big lie. Im just defending my position and if somebody doesnt like it its his own problem. ' ' '

WATKINS GLEN, New York -- It wasnt by design, but a true wild card has popped up late in the 2016 Verizon IndyCar Series championship. Cheap Air Jordan Shoes For Sale .The cancellation of a proposed Labor Day weekend street race in Boston resulted in the last-minute substitution of Watkins Glen International for a fast-paced road race at a track the IndyCar Series hasnt visited since 2010.With only nine prior races, The Glen isnt steeped in IndyCar history. But its one of Americas most famous and significant road courses and the Boston cancellation created the opportunity for a reunion that just about everyone in the series is looking forward to.These cars belong on tracks like this, said three-time IndyCar champion Bobby Rahal. You can really see what they can do and it separates the best drivers from the rest.Nobody is going around here with one hand on the wheel, I can tell you that.If The Glen was an oval track, it would be a superspeedway. Nearly three and a half miles in length, it links a series of long straights with just eleven corners, all of which require an average speed of 100 mph or more.Combine a recent full repave with a newer generation of Indy cars featuring high-downforce aero kits, and the product is a comprehensive rewrite of the record book.Scott Dixon ran a 1:23.892 second lap in the opening practice session Friday in his Ganassi Racing Chevrolet that was more than four seconds faster than Ryan Briscoes 2010 track record of 1:28.13.Dixons lap works out to an average speed of 144.614 mph, making it the fastest road course in the IndyCar Series this year. Dixon averaged a little more than 142 mph for his best lap in June at Road America. If Dixon or any of the other drivers can find a little more speed over the next 48 hours, Watkins Glen could officially take over from Road America as the fastest road course in IndyCar racing history. Dario Franchittis pole lap at Road America in 2000 corresponds to a 145.924 mph average.Franchitti, now retired from driving, shares Rahals belief that Indy cars belong on wide-open natural terrain road courses like The Glen.Outside of Indianapolis, this is the natural habitat for Indy cars, Franchitti said. Theyre so fast and its just stunning at a place like this. This place was even fun for me in a stock car, so thats saying something! With three career wins at Watkins Glen, Dixon enters the weekend as a strong favorite to score his second win of the season. But the New Zealander is a distant sixth in the IndyCar standings and the focus this weekend is more on the championship battle between Penske Racing teammates Simon Pagenaud and Will Power.Pagenaud leads 2014 IndyCar Series champion (and 2010 Watkins Glen winner) Power by 28 points with two races remaining, including the double-points finale at Sonoma Raceway. Seven other drivers remain mathematically eligible for the title, but they are all remote long shots.By winning four races each this year, Pagenaud and Power have separated themselves from the field and the ace road racers are likely to fight for the title at the front of the pack. But Pagenaud must be wary because the driver who has led the standings with two races remaining failed to finish the job in six of the past nine years. Powers come-from-behind charge to the title in 2014 was one of the exceptions.Although Pagenauds 28-point cushion is the smallest it has been since May, the Frenchman is not concerned. Were just going to keep doing what we have been doing, he said. Were going to keep focusing on ourselves and extract the best out of the situation. I think our team has done the best job all season, and if I drive the best I can, it should take care of itself.IndyCar ran at Watkins Glen from 2005 to 2010 but the series and the track were unable to find a mutually agreeable date and attendance was generally poor.Since then, natural terrain road courses like Road America, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and Barber Motorsports Park have enjoyed steady growth in their spectator count. Advance response to this years return has been positive, prompting WGI president Michael Printup to already line up a two-year extension with IndyCar through 2018 on the Labor Day weekend.Elkhart [Road America] and Mid-Ohio were tremendous and there was lots of interest at Watkins Glen when we tested there, observed legendary team owner Roger Penske. At the NASCAR race there was a lot of talk about the Indy cars coming back to The Glen and its great to be back. Wholesale Air Jordan Australia . The Australian is competing in his final season in Formula One and still looking for his first win this year. He will look to end Vettels run of six straight race wins on Sunday. Webber, who is fifth in the championship, earned his second pole from the past three races and 13th of his career. The "core" is a common term used to refer to the middle section of the body between the lower part of the rib cage and the hips. There are 29 muscles in this area including the pelvis, spine, lower back, hips and trunk. Core muscles maintain body stability and transfer power from the legs to the upper body and vice-versa. Core strength training improves overall body functional power, balance, posture and may help reduce the risk of injury. By understanding and applying the science related to the core muscle stability and strength, you can develop more effective running mechanics and avoid lower back pain and other physical challenges. Why your Core Muscles are Important Your core muscles are essential to your overall physical fitness because your body is an interconnected system. For example, tightness in your hamstrings can cause pain in your lower back and a foot injury can lead to pain in your hip. The core muscles help stabilize the entire body and transfer force from the lower body to the upper body. They are also a part of the "kinetic chain," which is a sequence of events that allows each part of the body to be activated at the optimal time and sequence to execute a given movement. A good example of the kinetic chain is how a soccer player uses their whole body in sequence to kick a soccer ball. In running, the example would be how the left arm moves in sequence and time with the right leg to transfer forces, stay balanced and to run effectively and efficiently. To ensure the optimal functioning of all parts of your body, you need to make sure that your core is strong, stable and flexible. Research has discovered significant links between core strength and speed in distance runners. Subjects who completed a six-week core strength training program of back extensions, hip raises, Russian twists and abdominal crunches on a stability ball experienced a statistically significant improvement in their 5km run times versus a control group that did not engage in core strengthening.(1) This study also found that lower leg stability and running kinetics remained unchanged for all of the runners involved, illustrating the importance of training the core in combination with the lower body to promote overall running performance. Another study illustrated the interconnected nature of the body by illustrating that tennis players who had a proper knee bend and body position were less likely to sustain an elbow or shoulder injury.(2)  Improve Your Performance When developing your core muscles, you need to focus on both muscle strength and muscle endurance. This is because these core stability muscles are used in most daily activities, not just while running. If your core muscles are not well developed, they will become easily fatigued and you will be at greater risk of instability, injury, and poor running mechanics. When you are designing a program to build your core, make sure it includes exercises that build both the strength (fewer reps and more resistance) and endurance (more reps and less resistance) of your core muscles. Always start with less resistance and progress slowly to higher resistance levels. You also need to keep in mind that because the whole body is connected, you need to activate your core in a way that also engages the nearby lower and upper body muscles so that the whole system learns to woork together. Buy Jordan Shoes Online Australia. Sample activities that will create this dynamic are hip raises while you lie on your back, superman raises (alternate legs and arms being lifted while you lie on your stomach), and side and front planks. For runners, these exercises are great because they relieve stress on the hamstrings, lower back and knees while still strengthening the core muscles. They will also simultaneously develop the strength and flexibility that is needed in the core muscles because keeping the core strong but fluid and open is important for energy transfer. Make sure you have a fitness professional show you how to do these exercises properly to maximize the training effect and minimize your risk of injury. Because core training puts stress on the spine, it is critical that you learn how to do the exercises properly. You should always focus on balance and control while training the core muscles and make sure a professional (certified physical trainer, kinesiologist, or your athletic/physio therapist) teaches you proper technique before you practice on your own. In particular, if you have a history of back pain, make sure you consult a physiotherapist of chiropractor before beginning a core strengthening program to make sure there are no underlying causes of your back pain or weakness. For an excellent core strength program that is specifically designed for people who are rehabilitating from back injuries, go look into Solid to the Core at www.solidtothecore.ca. Developing strength in the core of the body is critical for most sporting movements, especially running. To get the benefits, core stability and strengthening exercises must be performed regularly and consistently – just like you need to run regularly and consistently. To establish a fluid and strong set of core muscles, follow these tips: • Do core exercises at least three times a week• Focus on exercises that engage your core muscles but also work the surrounding upper body and lower body muscles• Build up slowly if you are just beginning to exercise your core muscles• Be aware of your spine alignment at all times and ensure that you are engaging your core muscles and maintain good posture (avoid sagging or slumping). For more information on core stability and back health refer to the work of Dr. Stuart McGill, a spine biomechanist, from the University of Waterloo, which can be found at www.backfitpro.com/ultbackbook.htm. TORONTO -- The Toronto Blue Jays survived their first elimination game of the postseason on Tuesday by defeating the Cleveland Indians 5-1 in Game 4 of the American League Championship Series. Cheap NCAA Baseball Jerseys .Now they must try to do it again in Game 5 on Wednesday at Rogers Centre.Blue Jays manager John Gibbons has given the assignment to right-hander Marco Estrada, who took the loss in Game 1 despite pitching Torontos only complete game of the season -- a 2-0 loss to Corey Kluber. The Indians will go with left-handed rookie Ryan Merritt, who will be making his postseason debut after spending most of the season at Triple-A Columbus. The Blue Jays five runs Tuesday were more than they had scored in the three previous games combined (three). It helped when a home run by Josh Donaldson gave them a 1-0 lead in the third and an RBI flare single by Ezequiel Carrera in the fourth gave them a 2-0 lead. You know, I liked being able to get the lead there early on in the game, Donaldson said. We havent been able to get a lead in this series. And I felt like it was very important for us to get out to a lead. And even if it was one run, whatever. ... In the playoffs, these games arent going to come easy to win. Theyve played great defense. Theyve pitched well and had timely hits. The Indians were able to get through Tuesday without using their two best relievers, right-hander Cody Allen and left-hander Andrew Miller. Both played vital roles in the first three games of the series. They will be rested for Game 5.I think that helps, Indians manager Terry Francona said. Certainly when youre down one trying to keep it at one so we have a chance, but also recognizing that if Miller and Cody pitch, that would have been four out of five pretty high-stress, high-leverage innings.(I) decided to try to go a different route. Didnt work out as well as we wanted, but we do have those guys available with a day off behind it.Edwin Encarnacion added a two-run single and Kevin Pillar had a sacrifice fly.Blue Jays manager John Gibbons felt like his team approached the game like they normally would.Really, everything, almost like a normal day, Gibbons said. Obviously its not, but it was almost like a normal regular-season game. They were nice, loose and relaxed, well aware of the circumstances. They showed up today like they always do and played a good ballgame.Francona was down 3-0 in the 2004 ALCS when he was managing the Boston Red Sox. They became the first major-league team to come back from a 3-0 disadvantage, beating the New York Yankees in seven games. They then went on to win the World Series.Im proud of that, obviously, Francona said before the game Tuesday. That was a wonderful four days. I dont think the first three were that great. But it ended -- it was fun to live through that and to actually live. So I guess if people ask, I dont mind it, because like I said, I was proud of those guys. ... But this is a different time, a different team, very different circumstances.Merritt has pitched in four regular-season games, including one start, and is 1-0 with a 1.64 ERA. In 24 starts at Columbus, he was 11-8 with a 3.70 ERA.If you told me at the start of the season I was going to be pitching in the ALCS, I wouldve thought you were crazy, Merritt said. Its awesome. Im glad its here.Estrada allowed two runs in eight innings in the 2-0 loss in Game 1 at Progressive Field. He allowed six hits and one walk and struck out six.In his regular-season start against Cleveland this season, he allowed three runs in five innings. In two career regular-season starts vs. Cleveland, he is 0-0 with a 3.75 ERA.Weve got to win, Estrada said. Thats basically it. Im going to go out and do what Ive basically done all year and not really think about it as an elimination game. Ill just think about it just as another game. My job is to try to go nine innings and give up zero runs. So it doesnt matter if its the last game of the season, the first game, you want to do that every time out. OAKLAND, Calif. -- Kendall Graveman is a big fan of motivational tapes and speeches, something the Athletics right-hander relied on quite a bit after losing six of his first seven decisions this year. How quickly things change. With the way hes pitched lately, Graveman has emerged as a source of inspiration for teammates.Graveman pitched into the seventh inning to become Oaklands first 10-game winner this season, and the Athletics beat the Cleveland Indians 5-1 Wednesday to win the series.I thought we threw the ball well and had a good game plan going in, Graveman said. Just to have that feel from the mechanics side of it gives you a lot of confidence to go out there and continue to execute pitches where you want them. The As took two of three games from the AL Central leaders, who had swept a three-game set against Oakland in July. Cleveland went into the day with the best record in the American League but was held to one run for the third consecutive game while being outscored 14-3 in the series.Hopefully we just had like three days of amnesia, Indians manager Terry Francona said. Those things happen. Not fun when it does but it happens. They did a number on us.Khris Davis tripled and scored as part of Oaklands five-run second inning against Trevor Bauer (9-6).Roberto Perez homered while Jose Ramirez and Lonnie Chisenhall had two hits apiece for Cleveland.Graveman (10-8) extended his scoreless streak to 16 innings before Perez homered in the seventh.Graveman allowed six hits in 6 2/3 innings. Since starting the season 1-6, hes gone 9-2 with a 3.36 ERA in 17 starts.Mark Rzepczynski, Ryan Dull and Ryan Madson combined to retire the final seven batters. To hold a team and a lineup like that to a couple runs ... its fun to watch, Graveman said. Guys arre starting to step up and do some good things in big situations. Authentic NCAA Jerseys. Bauer gave up nine hits over 6 2/3 innings. After striking out a career-high 13 in his last start, he fanned three.Ryon Healy, Max Muncy and Chad Pinder drove in runs during the second for Oakland. Two more runs scored when first baseman Carlos Santana lost Danny Valencias high pop-up in the sun and was charged with an error. Its been kind of a theme for us this year, As manager Bob Melvin said. I cant figure it out. Theres certain days and certain series that we can move the line offensively. We just dont do it consistently enough.PERFECTLY PLACEDPerez homered with two outs in the seventh. The ball hit off the top of the wall in right field and bounced right back into Valencias glove. Umpires initially ruled it a hit, then changed it to a home run -- Perezs first of the season -- after going to replay. That particular part of the fence, behind it, its out of play, so Im guessing thats what they were calling, Melvin said. Its the only place in the ballpark where you have that metal piece behind it, and it ended up affecting us.TRAINERS ROOMAthletics: SS Marcus Semien was put on the paternity list. Right-handed reliever J.B. Wendelken was called up from Triple-A Nashville.UP NEXTIndians: RHP Josh Tomlin (11-7) pitches the opener in Texas on Thursday. He was roughed up for eight runs in 3 2/3 innings the last time he faced the Rangers on May 30.Athletics: LHP Ross Detwiler (1-2) makes his third career start against St. Louis on Friday in the opener of a three-game series with the Cardinals. Detwiler has allowed 11 runs over his past 8 2/3 innings. ' ' '
